Patriarchal / Patriarchy-Based

Patriarchal / Patriarchy-based – in feminist and gender studies, a distinction may be drawn between these two meanings. Patriarchal may denote traditional, customary, or archaic forms of social organization associated with inherited norms and practices. Patriarchy-based, by contrast, describes social relations, institutions, and cultural patterns structured by patriarchy, including androcentrism, institutionalized gender inequality, and the strict regulation of gender roles.
