Andron
Andron – the men’s quarters, or men’s reception room, in a house in Ancient Greece.
The andron was the public and representative part of the house and was distinguished by rich decoration. Men gathered in the andron for various celebrations, as well as simply for conversation and meals.
The andron necessarily contained a couch, or kline, on which the ancient Greeks reclined while eating and drinking.
