Gender Resocialization
Gender resocialization – the process through which previously internalized gender norms, values, roles, expectations, and patterns of behaviour are reconsidered, modified, rejected, or replaced, while new gender-related understandings and practices are learned and adopted.
Gender resocialization may occur in response to changes in a person’s social environment, life experience, relationships, social roles, identity, or broader cultural and institutional transformations.
