Gender Studies
Gender studies – an interdisciplinary field of research that uses the analytical potential of gender theory to examine social phenomena and social change.
The process of forming a network of gender studies began in the 1980s and 1990s in the countries of Western Europe.
The specificity of gender studies, and their difference from women’s studies, lies in the fact that their scholarly interests extend far beyond women’s issues and include men’s studies, queer studies, theories of sexuality, and related areas.
