Sexual Identity
Sexual identity – one of the components of human sexuality, defined as an individual’s self-identification with people who have a particular sexual orientation, or as a person’s self-perception as an individual with a particular sexual orientation.
Sexual identity is not identical to a person’s sexual orientation as such and does not necessarily coincide with their actual patterns of sexual attraction or sexual orientation.
